Liberty advises the management team of Hometree on investment from Pollen Street

Liberty Corporate Finance is pleased to announce it has advised the management team of Hometree, the fast-growing home services challenger, on a majority investment from Pollen Street, a leading private equity and alternative asset manager.

Pollen Street’s investment will provide significant growth capital to accelerate Hometree’s expansion and fund its acquisition of OVO Energy’s Home Services division – creating the UK’s third-largest provider of Home Emergency Insurance and positioning Hometree as a technology-enabled market leader in residential home services and electrification.

Simon Phelan, Hometree’s Founder and Chief Executive Officer, will lead the combined group, whilst Jason Howie, OVO Home Services MD, will join the group as Chief Operating Officer, alongside a combined executive team from both Hometree and OVO Home Services that creates one of the most capable management teams in the sector.

On completion, the combined company is expected to serve nearly 500,000 customers, employ 550 people, and operate a nationwide network of over 5,000 qualified engineers.

Backed by Pollen Street’s capital and expertise, Hometree will expand into home emergency cover and residential energy services across the UK and selected European markets, investing in technology and AI to combine subscription cover with financing and installation solutions that simplify homeownership and accelerate the transition to electrified homes.

Hometree is one of the most exciting growth businesses in the UK home services market, and we are delighted to have supported Simon and the management team in securing this investment from Pollen Street. The backing of a partner of Pollen Street’s calibre is a strong endorsement of Hometree’s strategy and its potential to become the leading technology-enabled home services platform in the UK and beyond.
