Liberty advises the management team of Geomatikk on its acquisition by Axcel
Liberty Corporate Finance is pleased to announce that it has advised the management team of Geomatikk, a leading provider of tech-enabled services and software that help safeguard and manage critical underground infrastructure, on its acquisition by Axcel.

Founded in 2005 and headquartered in Norway, Geomatikk combines tech-enabled detection services with proprietary software to help prevent damage to underground infrastructure, including power cables, fibre networks and water pipes, during excavation and construction work. The company employs approximately 630 people and serves 13,000 asset owners, municipalities and contractors each year across Norway, Sweden, Finland, Denmark and Spain.
Geomatikk holds a leading market position in Norway, Sweden and Finland, with growing presence in Denmark and Spain. Alongside Axcel, the company plans to further strengthen its footprint across the Nordics and expand into selected European markets.
Axcel is acquiring Geomatikk from Hg, a leading investor in European and transatlantic technology and services businesses. The transaction represents the 12th investment from Axcel VII and the firm’s fourth platform investment in Norway. Management, together with Norwegian investment company KKA Invest, will reinvest and continue as shareholders alongside Axcel.
